ABOUT
Here at Her Game Too, we are a group of female supporters who are passionate about football and working to eradicate sexism in the football industry. We want women and girls of all ages to feel confident and safe sharing their opinion about football both online and in real life without fear of sexist abuse.
Jill Simmonds – Her Game too Ambassador and member of Durham County FA Inclusion Advisory Board; "HerGameToo not only raises awareness of the issues females can face in football, but also celebrates the growing participation. The number of girls playing in the North East is increasing which is fantastic news. However, encouraging more female supporters, coaches, officials, physios and women in business roles is just as important. Making safe spaces for all of this to happen is key and one which has been established in many areas across the region. Issues will occur, but we are here to support and encourage girls to pursue their football dreams, be it on the playing field or the board room. Reporting systems are vital to helping confront these issues and ensures females feel heard and valued within the sport. Having a partnership with Durham FA helps us to raise awareness of the campaign and also educate people about our aims and objectives and we look forward to working together more closely in the future."
Aims and Objectives
- Create awareness of sexism and campaign against it within sport
- To educate all generations
- To research and discuss current issues
- Develop a strong sense of community
- Create regular content to champion women in football (players, staff and fans)
- Create strong relationships with clubs, Chief Commercial Officer's and wider communities
- Have a presence at football grounds and sports bars to build a more welcoming environment for young girls and women
- Continue to campaign against online abuse
