We hope you find the site informative and interesting and especially as a way of keeping you informed about what’s happening in the County affecting our Referees.
Jeff Russell is the Referee Development Officer (Jeff.Russell@DurhamFA.com) for the Durham County FA and along with Company Secretary John Topping he is charged with the responsibility of helping to oversee many of the aspects of refereeing in the County area.
Jeff, a Durham lad born and bred, is himself a qualified referee who has officiated at the highest level of county football and has many years experience at grass roots level.
“I feel very lucky and privileged to have been given the opportunity to help move referee development forward in the county and my two main goals at this time is to retain currently active referees and also to recruit more referees into our game”, says Jeff.
“With the Respect Programme rapidly gathering momentum this coming season along with the quality of our training of new referees and support offered from the local Referee Associations I strongly believe that it is an ideal time to become a Referee”.
