DURHAM FA U15’S GIRLS 7v7 TOURNAMENT!

On Sunday 3rd July 2022 Durham FA organised an U15’s Girls 7v7 tournament at Riverside Sports Complex involving 12 teams from across the North East.

Teams were split evenly into two groups (Blue & Green) with all teams playing each other once within their group.

Blue Group consisted of

• Birtley Town
• Darlington FC Locomotive
• Farringdon Detached
• South Moor Juniors
• South Shields FC Foundation (Blacks)
• Whickham Fellside

In Green Group teams were;

• Bishop Auckland
• Deerness Valley Tigers
• Felling Magpies
• Gateshead Leam Rangers
• Norton & Stockton Ancients
• South Shields FC Foundation (Blues)

Teams finishing in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th place in Blue Group played the respective team in Green Group giving all teams an additional game.

South Shields FC Foundation (Blacks) finished in first position in Blue Group, and they progressed to the final to play Gateshead Leam Rangers who finished top of Green Group.

After an exciting final played in good spirits by both teams Gateshead Leam Rangers came out on top as 2-0 winners and took home the Durham FA U15’s Girls 7v7 Trophy for July 2022.

We would like to thank all teams for taking part in the tournament and also a huge thank you to Referees Chloe West, Courtney Pigford and Kaitlyn Wilson who were all excellent and controlled each game superbly.

UPCOMING girls EVENTS!

We have two upcoming girls mini soccer events with the first being a Durham FA Girls Euros Tournament this Sunday 10th July 2022 which will be held at Ford Quarry Hub in Sunderland.

The Under 7's and Under 8's (5v5) will kick off on Sunday 10th July 2022 with fixtures commencing at 10:00am and finishing approximately 12:15pm

The Under 9's and Under 10's (7v7) will also play on Sunday 10th July 2022 with fixtures commencing at 12:15pm and finishing at approximately 3:00pm.

Entry fee for U7's & U8's is £25 per team with the U9's & U10's paying £30 per team.

The next event we are organising is the Durham FA Girls Mini Soccer Summer Event on Wednesday 3rd, 4th & 5th August 2022 for girls teams playing U7’s, U8’s, U9’s & U10’s in Season 22-23. The event will take place on the 3G pitch at Riverside Sports Complex in Chester Le Street.

This is an ideal opportunity to introduce your new Under 7's to organised games (All players must be at least 6) as well as Under 9's playing in the 7v7 format for the first time. For Under 8's and Under 10's this is a brilliant opportunity to play in friendly fixtures in a safe and controlled environment in preparation for the new season.

The Under 7's and Under 8's (5v5) will kick off on Wednesday 3rd August 2022 with the under 7's games commencing at 10:00am and finishing at approximately 12noon. The Under 8's will begin their fixtures at 1:00pm finishing at approximately 3:00pm.

The Under 9's (7v7) will play on Thursday 4th August 2022 with fixtures commencing at 10:00am and finishing at approximately 1:00pm.

The Under 10's (7v7) will play on Friday 5th August 2022 with the games commencing at 10:00am and finishing at approximately 1:00pm.

Entry fee for U7's & U8's is £20 per team with the U9's & U10's paying £25 per team.

The focus of this event is for girls to enjoy playing football. Therefore there will be no overall winners, no finals arranged, and no results recorded however ALL players who compete will be given a medal of participation.
