Sunderland City Council Message regarding COVID-19

Below is a message from Sunderland City Council regarding COVID-19.

Following the news that coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed as a pandemic, it’s important we all take steps to prevent the spread of the illness, and to work alongside our voluntary and community sector in continuing to deliver much needed provision within communities.

As a great supporter of Active Sunderland we want to see how we can help and if you can help within the community. We intend to maintain regular contact with you to understand the breadth of activity being delivered in communities by the sector and other community spirited organisations in the city as well as understanding what support you need to continue to deliver community based provision.

To enable us to fully understand what is already happening, potential to adapt the offer to meet changing demands and the impact on your organisation as well as the community– we would be grateful if you could complete this very short survey by Monday.  https://www.sunderland.gov.uk/coronavirus

It’s displayed as a button at the bottom of the page

We will review the information and then work to support each organisation as required in addition to sharing the information as widely as possible as to the changing face of provision available within communities.

We have also established a volunteer platform, which we would be grateful if you would share with your networks. click here to register an interest. The platform will enable us to collate volunteering opportunities as well as understand where there are gaps, due to volunteers being unable to support their usual activities – either because of self-isolation of ill health.
