Over 50s Walking Football Tournament a Success

Durham FA hosted the second 50’s Tournament of the season at Goals Sunderland on Sunday 10th November 2019.

The tournament was made up of 2 teams from Blackfyne JFC, Middleton Rangers and Seaton Carew Strollers. There was excellent football on display from all teams and games were played in a competitive but friendly spirit. There tournament was 

Seaton Carew strollers showed their experience on the day and topped the league winning all of their games in the process. There promising displays from both of the Blackfyne and Middleton teams who have only recently started to enter Walking Football tournaments and put in displays that will stand them in good stead for future tournaments.

Durham FA are going to continue organising a range of Over 50’s and Over 60’s tournaments and festivals throughout the season, with the next tournament being  to be held at Gateshead Redheugh on February 9th 2020. Walking Football teams will also be invited to enter into the FA FIVES tournament to be hosted in May 2020, which could see them progress through to the Regional and National finals with a chance to win some tickets for EURO 2020 games to be held at Wembley.
