FA England Talent Day 2019

Fantastic England Talent Day Delivered at Beacon of Light

Monday 7th May saw Durham FA and the Foundation of Light deliver an FA England Talent Day at the Beacon of Light, which consisted of a great morning for disability football, looking at specific impairment groups Amputee, Blind, Cerebral Palsy, Deaf, Visually Impaired.

The children, parents and carers were introduced to George Ferguson, Visually impaired GB and England Player who presented his career pathway in football. It was a great insight for the youngsters, who were also shown Georges caps, shirts and trophy acknowledging his induction in to the hall of fame. George also spent a little time on the pitch with the youngsters offering support and encouragement.  The group were also introduced to the England Talent Pathway delivered by Lee Grace from Middlesbrough Foundation.

The practical skills session was delivered through Foundation of Light coaches Kevin, Jamie and Joey who worked with the group for the remainder of the morning. The session was rounded off with a photo opportunity, a question and answer session and a discussion around future sessions to be developed.
