FA Peoples Cup

FA Peoples Cup Event Success

On Wednesday the 13th February Durham FA held their first FA People’s Cup Fixtures for 2019 for Adult Disability Teams hosted by Goals Sunderland.

The FA People’s Cup, which is the largest small-sided football competition in the country, is made up of 15 different categories, teams from around the country aiming for the ultimate prize of competing at St Georges Park and a chance to be at Wembley for the Emirates FA Cup Final in May.

With 20 teams in attendance bringing together over 150 participants, team managers, coaches and spectators across 3 banded divisions. There were some great games played with the aim of winning a place in the next round, the semi-finals at Goals Sunderland. The event was played in great spirit with a fantastic atmosphere where players were encouraging each other and team managers offering coaching guidance from the side-lines.
