Female Coach Development Opportunities for 2019-20
Durham FA have some fantastic opportunities this coming season for female coaches to develop as a coach!
Female Only FA Level 1 & 2 Courses
Following on from last year’s highly successful initiative to Support and Develop Female coaches, we am pleased to announce more courses have been organised for Females.
The aim is to encourage more Female coaches to attend FA Level 1 and FA Level 2 courses so they feel comfortable and confident in an environment where more females are in attendance.

Learners must be able to attend ALL dates stated above for all blocks.
This was the same approach as last year however due to injuries and absence, we did have to join an FA Level 2 in Coaching Football Block 1 course together which consisted of males to ensure the course could be delivered and this may happen this year depending upon numbers.
As well as receiving support on the course, additional help will be given by Robbie Pringle, Coach Development Officer ( Women & Girls) High Performance Football Centre and a FA Mentor, this will be explained on the induction night.
To apply for either of the courses above please email Sophie.Hughes@DurhamFA.com for application information.
Coach Transition Programme (CTP)
For those that would like to continue their coaching journey by enrolling on the FA Level 2 but perhaps do not feel ‘ready’ to do so yet, then the newly introduced Coach Transition Programme (CTP) may be the option for you. Delivered collaboratively through The FA Women’s High Performance Football Centre at Northumbria University, Durham FA and Northumberland FA, the CTP presents a unique opportunity for coaches to access a series of linked coach development ‘touch points’ to support your progress towards the next step on The FA Coaching Pathway, whilst also receiving a £100 bursary towards your next level of qualification.
The CTP is aimed at Level 1 or Level 2 coaches who are either in the female game (male or female coaches) or females coaching across any format of the game (male or female football) and who have ambitions to enrol on their FA Level 2 or FA Level 3 (UEFA B) respectively, but think that they are not quite at that stage yet.

Insight into the FA Level 2 Coaching Course
Lastly, to bring all the information together a Free Workshop has been organised to give an Insight into the FA Level 2 Coaching Course. You must register your attendance using the booking link below.
Coaches will be provided a detailed overview of the qualification, with the following aspects being brought to life:
• Course Structure – what the format and layout of the course looks like
• Course Content – what topics and themes the course covers
• Course Requirements – what you will need to do to complete the course
In addition to the above, attendees will be able to observe some tutor-led practical delivery from an actual Level 2 course that is taking place that evening.
