The Tyne & Wear Sport Club Bursary provides a great opportunity to increase awareness of your club/organisation within the local community by hosting sessions focusing on a new audience.

If your club would like to start a new girls’ team, hold a disability session or run a weekly family session Tyne & Wear Sport would love to hear about it!

Grants of between £100 and £750 are available to support clubs with engaging a new target audience; the following will be eligible for funding;

Equipment – for example, balls, bibs, tennis racquets (NOT match balls)
Marketing material – for example, flyers, social media marketing, pull ups/pop ups
Facility Hire – in addition to sessions the club/organisation already run
Volunteer Expenses – for example, travel (this does not include coaching fees)
Incentives – for example, attend 3 sessions receive a t-shirt/water bottle 
In order to be eligible to apply, clubs/ organisations must meet the funding criteria which can be found HERE

Requirements

Projects must have a specific focus on engaging new, inactive (those doing less than 30 minutes per week) participants. Although applications are welcome from all clubs/organisations priority will be given to the focus groups above.  

All applications must be able to provide the following information;

The reason for requesting funding
The priority group they are targeting
Details of the sessions including dates and times
A Budget breakdown
A clear understanding of sustainability and how these participants will be encouraged and enabled to stay involved in sport/physical activity
In addition, all clubs MUST provide a press release/case study along with photographs after their session.

Tyne and Wear Sport may attend sessions to help with press coverage and promotion.

The club bursary will be open from 2nd July to 5pm on 31st July 2018; all clubs will receive a decision by Friday 3rd August.

Please be aware if you have received a bursary from Tyne & Wear Sport previously you are still eligible to apply.

All requests for funding must be submitted on the application form below; please refer to the guidance notes (tab 2 on the form) before completing the document.
