Durham FA U18's continue unbeaten run

West Riding FA 1 v 6 Durham FA

Durham FA Under 18s travelled to West Riding CFA on Saturday 10th February 2018 hoping to continuing their unbeaten start to the Association of Northern Counties campaign.

The season has begun with 6 – 0 home victory over Lincolnshire CFA, 1 – 1 draw away to North Riding CFA and a 1 – 0 success at Northumberland CFA putting Durham top of the league table with seven points from a possible nine.

The first half against West Riding was end to end with Durham having the majority of the possession but not capitalising on this until the 44th minute when Cieran Jackson fired home from 20 yards, the shot took a slight deflection and left the goalkeeper with no chance.

In the second half Durham took control from the start and increased their lead on 48 minutes when substitute Scott Robson chased down a back pass to the home side goalkeeper whose clearance fell to Dane Eltringham who slotted home.

Four minutes later Shahban Mohammed played in Jake Petitjean behind the home defence and his cross was met by Robson who was brought down and the refereeing awarding Durham a penalty which was dispatched by Aaron Thompson.

Durham put the result beyond doubt with a further three goals in a seven minute spell, Kieron Parnaby hit a superb 20 yarder in 63 minutes before Bradley Burns and Eltringham added the others.

West Riding scored a consolation goal on 71 minutes when Eddie Church finished a fine solo run.

Durham now lead the table with a home game against Sheffield & Hallamshire to play on Saturday 24th March 2018.
