Mentoring

Russell Foster Girls League and Durham FA CPD events success

On Friday 30th November and Friday 7th December coaches from the Russell Foster Girls Youth League were invited to attend a workshop relating to supporting to female game. FA Coach Mentor Billy Horn delivered the evening with the Durham FA Player Development Centre coaches and the Durham FA Women’s and Girls’ Football Development Officer Alysha Cook.

The two evenings consisted of both theory and practical delivering and allowed the coaches from the Russell Foster Girls Youth League the chance to observe coaches from the Durham FA Girls’ Player Development Centre. Feedback from the league coaches was great and all appreciated the opportunity to observe coaches who hold UEFA A & B Licence coaching awards.

FA Coach Mentor, Billy Horn: ‘It’s been great delivering these two events, we have tried to help coaches and give them the chance to watch other qualified coaches and ask questions, give comments to what they think, we hope to do more of these in the future but this has been a great start’.

This support programme forms part of Durham FA's strategy to support the female game and continue to increase the standards for our young players.
