Course Information:
- Minimum age 14
- Course Duration: Minimum of 21 Guided Learning Hours
- Course Prerequisites: None
The FA Futsal Course for referees is designed to provide training for those planning to referee futsal and will focus on the following areas:
• Understanding the difference between futsal and other formats of the game
• Understanding the laws of futsal and their practical application
• The realities of your role – dealing with practical situations including misconduct
• Putting your skills and knowledge into practise by refereeing games
Course Content
Unit 1 – The Referee and Fouls
- Introduction to the course
- The ethos of futsal
- Role and responsibilities
- What the qualification is
Unit 2 – Misconduct and reporting
- Law 12 sanctions
- Cautioning and send off procedure
- Misconduct report writing
Unit 3 – Recognising challenges, advantage & other roles
- Law 12 sanctions
- Recognising challenges
- The second referee, timekeeper& third official
Unit 4 – Practical day
- Free kicks, penalty kicks, small games
- Over 1-3 months; refereeing a minimum of 6 games
Unit 5 – Reviewing your role as a referee
- Opportunity to reflect on previous learning and experience
Examination to confirm competence to qualify as a futsal referee
Cost: £105 per Candidate or £55 if you are already qualified to referee 11aside football and are affiliated with Durham County FA, WHICH MUST BE SENT WITH APPLICATION FORM.
