Durham FA Women and Girls Football Development Officer

Durham FA are delighted to announce that Helen Edwards will commence employment with Durham FA on Monday 16th December 2019 as our Football Development Officer responsible for Women & Girls football throughout the County.

Company Secretary, John Topping said “We are delighted that Helen has decided to join the Association and it is considered that her appointment will help continue and increase participation of female within different roles at grassroots level, leading some in to higher levels of the game within the Women’s Pyramid system”.

Helen stated “I am delighted to accept the role of Women and Girls football Development Officer at Durham FA and to help build on the good work undertaken by the County FA. My experience in football covers a magnitude of roles and experiences including a former player at Everton Ladies, an FA level two football coach, a National list assistant referee on the EFL and FIFA assistant referee. I successfully completed a Sport Development degree at Edge Hill University and for the last 5 years have been coordinating various programmes at the Foundation of Light to engage females with in sport. I will look to use my knowledge and experience to inspire females to engage within football and provide inclusive opportunities for all within various roles of the game”.
