FA Peoples Cup

The FA Peoples Cup - Semi Final

Adult Disability and Junior Disability Teams Event

Durham FA hosted the Semi Finals of the Peoples Cup for Adult and Junior Disability Teams for the first time since the event was introduced.

The event was held at Goals, Sunderland following on from a very successful first round event seeing 20 teams participating in the premiership, league and championship divisions, players were aiming for the opportunity to play the finals at St George’s Park on 27th & 28th April.

Teams from Carlisle, Middlesbrough and Durham played against each other providing some fantastic games of football throughout the afternoon.

The junior division was hotly contested with the score line very close right up to the final game. Carlisle Reivers and South Tyneside Ability FC both played a competitive final with the latter team taking the title and will be heading to St Georges Park.

The adult divisions provided some very competitive games with a great atmosphere for all competitors.

Michael Bell, Welfare Officer, Newcastle East End FC said;

"On behalf of Newcastle East End FCs Disability players, Coaches and Club committee we would like to thank you for your excellent hospitality and excellently ran peoples cup tournament.

Our players have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and are really looking forward to their trip to St Georges for the Disability male premiership final"
