Durham County FA under 18s began their Division One title defence with a home fixture against Lincolnshire CFA, at the Hetton Centre, Houghton le Spring on Saturday 30th September 2017.

The home side spurned two good chances in the first ten minutes before fortuitously going ahead in the 13th minute when Aidan Crooks swung in a corner to the far post and the defender on the line miskicked it.

Durham dominated possession and only the goalkeepers feet stopped Craig Ellison putting them two up in the 20th minute. Durham doubled their lead in the 25th minute when Kieron Parnaby headed home a Crooks corner and went in 3 – 0 up when Arron Thompson converted from the penalty spot following a trip on Ellison.

Lincolnshire battled away in the second half but went further behind when Bailey Prudhoe thumped a 25 yarder against the bar, it broke to Ellison who back heeled into the path of Thompson who grabbed his second.

In the Sixty eighth minute Prudhoe set up Ellison who side footed home from close range.

The scoring was completed in the 78th minute when substitute Cieran Jackson raced on to a 30 yard pass to make it 6 – 0 to Durham.
