FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football

This three-hour workshop offers basic advice on how to limit the effects of injury and promote recovery.

Course Information

• Minimum Age: 16
• Course Duration: 3 hours 
• Course Prerequisites: This is course is open to anyone with an interest in improving their emergency aid skills.

Learning Programme

Topics covered include mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, control of bleeding, dressing of wounds and minimising shock.

The course will cover:

- Incident Management
- Assessing the casualty
- Recovery position
- Heart attacks
- Choking
- Asthma
- Head injuries


This course will:

Offer basic advice on how to limit the effects of injury and promote recovery.
Provide you with the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to be able to attend a conscious or unconscious casualty and ensure that appropriate care is given until the emergency medical services arrive and takeover, or until an alternative healthcare professional(s), assumes responsibility for the casualty.


First Aid qualifications have a three year validity, this qualification must be renewed every 3 years.

**Durham FA Coach Education Cancellation Policy**

If you need to cancel your attendance on the course you should inform Durham FA immediately. All our courses are in demand and by not advising us you are preventing another candidate from attending.

If you cancel more than 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the course, a full refund will be issued. However, if you cancel after the 2 week deadline, no refund will be given. Consideration will be given to candidates who, for health reasons are unable to attend and require a transfer to another course. A letter from a doctor or medical professional must be supplied.

If you should decide to transfer to another course once your application has been submitted, there will be an additional administration charge of £20.00

If you are a League Official, Club Official, Referee, Coach and/or Player it is extremely likely you have a FAN already.
