Setting up a club

Setting up a club

The vast majority of football throughout the country is played at a local level for personal enjoyment.

Before starting up a new club, you should ask: are there enough potential players? Are there enough volunteers to run the club? Each individual club require specific roles within the club for both adult and youth. We have outlined below information you need with regard to forming a new club.

To be able to participate in organised football or play in leagues, you must affiliate to your County FA.

This isn’t a difficult task and we can provide any advice you need.

We have created a 'Setting up a Club' resource which has links to downloads and resources to support you setting up your club or team. In this resource you can find information on becoming an FA Charter Standard Club, things to think about on a match day once up and running and links to policies and procedures you will need.
