Northumberland and Durham FA are seeking to employ a full time Football Development Officer (Girls', Women and Disability).

This position reports directly to the County Development Managers of both County FA's and will support and develop all areas of girls', women's and disability football in accordance with the County FA's Development Plans.

This is a contract post until June 2012.

The role encompasses the following areas:

• Increasing female Participation and supporting Club/League development particularly through the School-Club Links programme and the FA Charter Standard Scheme
• Increasing and supporting female Coaches, Volunteers, Young Leaders, Tutors and Referees
• Ensuring that Talent Development is delivered through the FA Centre of Excellence(s)
• Support and develop opportunities for Under Represented Groups, particularly players with Disabilities and players from Minority Ethnic Communities

This will involve working strategically with key agencies e.g. County Sports Partnerships, Local Authorities, Local Education Authorities, schools, local leagues and clubs. The post is based at Northumberland FA but also links with Durham FA – covering the Tyne and Wear Sport area (Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Sunderland and Gateshead).

The successful candidate is likely to be a graduate with knowledge and experience of sports development. An understanding of female football structures and pathways, barriers faced by females and knowledge of sports equity is required. You need to be passionate about and committed to the development of female football at a local level.

Candidates must demonstrate both team working skills and the ability to work unsupervised and on their own initiative. Experience of managing projects/events to demonstrate sound organisation and planning skills is required. Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills will be expected.

Salary band: £21,000 - £25,000
