Football Development Officer (Girls’ and Women)
This position reports directly to the Senior Football Development Officer and will support and develop all areas of girls’ and women's football in accordance with the County FA Development Plan.
The role encompasses the following areas:
• Increasing female participation and supporting club/league development particularly through the School-Club Links programme and the FA Charter Standard Scheme
• Increasing and supporting female coaches, volunteers, young leaders, tutors and
referees
• Ensuring that talent development is delivered through the FA Centre of Excellence
• Support and develop opportunities for under represented groups, particularly
players with disabilities and players from minority ethnic communities
This will involve working strategically with key agencies e.g. County Sports Partnerships, Local Authorities, Local Education Authorities, schools, local leagues and clubs.
The successful candidate is likely to be a graduate with knowledge and experience of sports development. An understanding of female football structures and pathways, barriers faced by females and knowledge of sports equity is required. You need to be passionate about and committed to the development of female football at a local level.
Candidates must demonstrate both team-working skills and the ability to work unsupervised and on their own initiative. Experience of managing projects/events to demonstrate sound organisation and planning skills is required. Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills will be expected.
Applicants must hold a full driving licence and be able to work some evenings and weekends.
Terms and conditions include:
• Starting salary will be in the region of £24,000 per annum.
• The Post is initially a fixed term contract that will terminate on 30th June 2011.
• This Post is subject to satisfactory completion of an Enhanced CRB Disclosure.
