Durham County FA are pleased to announce our next Coaches Association session will be delivered indoors at Whitburn School.
The session being delivered is ‘How To Improve Understanding of Creative and Support Play off the Ball’.
This is one objective of a seven week coaching programme covering the overall Aim on;
‘How to Keep Possession as a Team’ which can be adapted to use for Mini Soccer teams to Youths.
The session will be delivered to different age groups and abilities which will provide a realistic challenge to both the coaches and players.
As it is being delivered indoors, it will show how you can continue to coach your players without changing your Aim and Objectives identified earlier in the season.
Each coach who attends will receive a 7 week coaching plan covering the other objectives on How to Keep Possession as a Team;
• Identify and move into space
• Improving 1st touch and understanding of why this is important
• Improving quality of pass and understand why it is important
• Explore dribbling techniques in order to keep possession
• Explore and understand shielding techniques to keep possession
• Understand when to dribble, pass or shield to retain possession
After the practical, there will be a Q & A session to discuss what has been delivered.

Programme of Evening
5.30pm – 6.30pm Registration, Refreshments Practical
( coaches can attend any time between the 1st session to see the comparison from the 1st group to the second)
6.30pm – 7.30pm Practical
7.30pm – 8.00pm Q & A ( Hand out Coaching Plans)
Please Note: We will be delivering one of the other 6 sessions from this 7 week programme in a later event in the South of the County.
