Durham County FA held its first ever annual Awards Evening to reward the volunteers and teachers who support and develop grassroots football in the County.

The evening was held the Rainton Meadows Arena and awards were presented by the Durham County FA President Mr Frank D Pattison in the presence of Company Secretary Mr John C Topping and County Development Manager Mr Philip Woodward who hosted the event.

The awards included a number of FA Charter Standard presentations, for achieving the FA Kite Mark Award for Clubs, Leagues and Schools as well as County FA Groundsman of the Year for Level 7 and below and also Long Service Awards. A short video was shown before the announcement of each award to show the work carried out by each winner in each category.

The winners were:

FA Charter Standard Club of the Year:

FA Charter Standard Coach of the Year:
Dean Smith (Lumley FC)

FA Administrator of the Year:
Gary Brown (Lumley FC)

FA Charter Standard Adult Club of the Year:
Murton Victoria FC

FA Charter Standard Primary School of the Year:
Cockton Hill Junior School

FA Charter Standard Primary Development School of the Year: Birtley St Jospehs Primary School

FA Charter Standard Secondary School of the Year:
Heworth Grange Comprehensive School

FA Charter Standard Secondary Development School of the Year: High Tunstall College of Science
