A football club is about far more than the players on the pitch. The FA is committed to supporting the volunteers in club football who make up the backbone of grassroots football.A well-run club should feature the backroom staff of a Fixtures Secretary, fundraisers, a Welfare and a Chairperson to oversee the club’s constitution, as well as the frontline first aiders to act as physios and team coaches.
The FA recognises the value of volunteers and provides guides to clubs on how to recruit, retain and reward volunteers.

PARENTS & VOLUNTEERS
TheFA.com/YourGame created as an online resource for parents, volunteers and coaches. The Football Association and its Community Partner, McDonald’s, announce the launch of a brand new website dedicated to the football workforce – the lifeblood of the grassroots game – as part of the ongoing Your Game campaign.
The website, www.TheFA.com/YourGame has been created for the benefit of parents with children playing football on a regular basis, coaches, volunteers and those looking to play a role in helping to develop grassroots football across the country. What’s more, it’s been audited and accredited by Accessibility Net making it the first FA site accessible for those with visual impairments.
The website will be refreshed regularly with exciting offers and information. McDonald’s, the FA’s Community Partner since 2002, will be providing a number of competitions and exclusive experiences that can be applied for on the site, including the opportunity to have football legends such as Kenny Dalglish, Sir Geoff Hurst and Ian Rush visit clubs and teams around the country.
The site will also include Manchester United’s former youth coach and McDonald’s Head of Coaching, Eric Harrison, who will provide regular coaching tutorial videos – in addition to information and support for those who help clubs and leagues throughout the season, and for those looking to get involved.
The new TheFA.com/YourGame web site will feature a unique search tool that shows which clubs are looking for coaches, players or just general volunteers, throughout the country.
