Lumley Juniors inflicted a first defeat of the season on Sunderland Nissan and went six points clear at the top of the South Division. Kieron Day rounded off an excellent performance by bagging a hat trick with Liam Wintrip adding the other. Nissan replied with a James Morrison strike.
Sunderland RCA kept their title chances alive when they travelled to Newton Aycliffe and returned with the three points following a 2 – 0 victory.
Aycliffe dominated the first half and were unlucky not to go in 1 – 0 up at half time when a Mark Hemingway strike hit the bar. Aycliffe thought they should have been awarded a penalty early in the second half when they claimed a pull on Hemingway. RCA took the lead with 5 minutes remaining when Ryan Mather scored from a corner and he completed his double when he netted from a free kick.
Ryhope CW moved up the table with 3 – 1 home win over Blackhall CW thanks to goals from Michael Lavender, Connor Slee and Matthew Robson with Nathan Ball replying for the visitors
