First Aid For Sport

This course provides details and practical training on the following:

 

• Describe the duties, responsibilities, general treatment principles and priorities or emergency first aid.

• Define the common injuries in football and sport.

• Demonstrate the recognition / identification of injuries using SALTAPS on field injury assessment routine.

• Describe the signs and symptoms of common injuries and methods used in testing and recognition/differentiation of injuries.

• Explain the importance of advise and actions to prevent or reduce injury.

• Describe the important aspects of an injury Report Form and an Emergency Information Form.

Assessment Requirements

Assessments will be conducted on a continual assessment basis throughout the course using first aid scenarios for practical assessment.


What is the Duration of the Qualification?

The FA Qualification is valid for 3 years, after which attendance on another course is required.

Information: Thanks to sponsorship from Caterpillar Peterlee and Sportsmatch coaches from Durham County FA Charter Standard Clubs/Schools as well as accessing the bursary they will receive an Umbro polo shirt and a fully equiped medical bag worth £50 for each candidate who completes the course.

Course Fees must be paid up front, if you are having your course paid for you must submit a signed letter from the organisation/club on letter headed paper confirming they will be paying your course fee and this must be sent with your application form.
