Durham FA - developing football for everyone
Development - take your skills to the next level

The FA Skill Centres have been designed to work specifically on Football techniques and skills, but also on Fundamental skills that will provide children with essential elements to their game that is also transferable to other sports.

Some of the work will be undertaken without a ball and some with a ball, both with the overriding aim of developing individual’s game. Professional coaching and advice will be key to the development of the children, however, a new approach to coaching will also be put in place where the children are empowered to make their own decisions and solve problems. Children will be encouraged to experiment and explore their own ideas, with the understanding that making mistakes is part of the learning curve.

FA Skill Centres will be delivered on an evening, during the academic calendar, starting at approx. 4.00/4.30pm. Each Centre is split into three sessions, with children being signposted to a particular time slot dependant upon their age. A maximum of 32 children will be accommodated per hour (96 children per evening) and early indications are that demand is very high. In order to reserve a place for your child/ children booking and payment is essential in advance, with a first come, first serve policy in operation. There will be a nominal charge per session to cover the cost of the facility. This will be paid upfront as part of a block booking (minimum 6 weeks). In order to find out more about the FA Skill Centres in your area and to register your interest/ request a booking form please contact the relevant Skills Coach from the chart below.
