Football Mentor (Adults) CPD Module

A course for secondary school teachers to support other teachers (primary and secondary) to develop football in their school either in or out of the curriculum.

Duration – 3 hours
Who for? – Secondary school teachers
Cost - £10.50 per candidate

Aims & Objectives

- To understand the role of the mentor and principles of effective mentoring

- To understand and appreciate the required interpersonal skills of the mentor

- To explore strategies for mentoring a coach or teacher

- To demonstrate the ability to use core mentoring interpersonal skills (observation, giving accurate feedback, active listening questioning, critical reflection)

- To understand mentoring assessment, feedback and goal setting processes

- To consider the importance of the reflective ‘think book’

- To explore CPD and reflective action planning opportunities for mentors to consider their future development
