A course to train teachers to deliver the JFO course to students within their school. This course supports the FA Step into Sport Programme.
Duration – 6.5 hours
Minimum age – 16 years
Who for? – Qualified teachers or FA Level 2 coaches who have completed the FA Generic Tutor Training Course
Cost - £15.50 per candidate
Aims & Objectives
- Provide candidates with an understanding of the JFO course content to enable them to deliver the course to students
- To delve into fundamental movement skills in a practical setting
- To understand the FA 4 corners model
- Look at the FA young leadership programme and Step into Sport
- Examine different delivery methods for the course
Theory
- Preparing to play
- Fundamental movement skills
- Safety and safeguarding children
- Refereeing mini soccer
- STEP principle (Space, Task, Equipment, People)
- Basic introduction to the FA LTPD 4 courser model
- Organising festivals or mini tournaments
- FA leadership and Volunteering Programme
Practical
- Fundamental warm up
- Game related activities for 5-11 year olds
- Refereeing mini soccer
