Safeguarding children is about doing things the right way, doing things properly. It's about allowing children to enjoy the game without abuse of any kind. That means bullying, physical, emotional or sexual abuse and neglect.
The FA believes football can have a powerful positive influence on children. But that means everyone involved in football must take on the responsibility of looking after those children that want to play the game.
Should you have any queries or concerns regarding safeguarding children please contact Richard Hughes, County Welfare Officer on 0191 3872929 or email richard.hughes@durhamfa.com

Safeguarding Children - Recertification Online Goes Live
Need to renew your FA Safeguarding Children Qualification? FA Learning has now launched an easy to access online course that you can complete in the comfort of your own home. As of now, individuals can recertify online and ensure a crucial box is ticked on the way to becoming a fully licensed coach.
The only prerequisite of the course is that your previous certification/recertification must have been a face-to-face FA Safeguarding Children workshop. If you renewed your last FA Safeguarding Certificate through the checklists you will need to attend an FA Safeguarding Children Workshop to renew.
Users can sign up for online recertification today by simply using their FAN number (Your FAN:).
Go to the Member Services section of our website and log in and click on 'Online Courses' to access the online Safeguarding Re-certification.
