The workshop covers the following topics:
• The FA’s commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in football
• Examples of best practice and abuse
• Recognising the signs, indicators and forms of abuse and their impact on children
• Identifying behaviour that would give cause for concern
• What action to take if you are worried about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult
The following people should attend:
• Coaches, medics and referees
• Club Welfare Officers and assistants
• Committee members who make decisions on child issues within their club/league
The FA Safeguarding Children Workshop is normally included in the referee and level 1 coaching course.

***Safeguarding Children - Recertification Online***
Need to renew your FA Safeguarding Children Qualification?
FA Learning has now launched an easy to access online course that you can complete in the comfort of your own home. As of now, individuals can recertify online and ensure a crucial box is ticked on the way to becoming a fully licensed coach.
The only prerequisite of the course is that your previous certification/recertification must have been a face-to-face FA Safeguarding Children workshop. If you renewed your last FA Safeguarding Certificate through the checklists you will need to attend an FA Safeguarding Children Workshop to renew.
Users can sign up for online recertification today by simply using their FAN number (Your FAN:)
Go to the Member Services section of our website and log in and click on 'Online Courses' to access the online Safeguarding Re-certification.

The Durham County FA organise workshops throughout the county, please find dates available below.
****Durham FA Coach Education Cancellation Policy****
If you need to cancel your attendance on the course you should inform Durham FA immediately. All our courses are in demand and by not advising us you are preventing another candidate from attending.
If you cancel more than 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the course, a full refund will be issued. However, if you cancel after the 2 week deadline, no refund will be given. Consideration will be given to candidates who, for health reasons are unable to attend and require a transfer to another course. A letter from a doctor or medical professional must be supplied.
If you should decide to transfer to another course once your application has been submitted, there will be an additional administration charge of £20.00
