1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football

The Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football is the next step towards becoming a recognised football coach. The Certificate offers candidates a combination of practical experience and class-based theory, to develop an understanding of the planning, conducting and evaluation of ethical football coaching sessions.

Who should enrol?

Anybody over 17 years of age with regular practical experience of participation in football.

 

What are the entry requirements?
Candidates are required to:

Be qualified at FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football or FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Adults.

Have observed qualified and experienced coaches working with adults and children.

Prior to certification, candidates are required to present evidence of attendance at:

The F.A. Emergency Aid Certificate or equivalent (must be HSE Approved)

The F.A. Safeguarding Children Workshop
(Work shops are provided by Durham County FA on a regular basis)


What will I learn?

On successfully achieving this recognised qualification candidates will be able to:

• develop an appreciation of the ethical coaching process

• plan, conduct and evaluate a series of football coaching sessions

• coach the basic skills and techniques of football

• promote and establish positive working relationships at all levels

• ensure the health and safety of players and others within the  coaching environment

• develop greater responsibility for their own learning and development

• promote the sport in a positive and constructive manner

• demonstrate an understanding of the principles of attack and defence through the use of practices and small sided games.


How is the qualification assessed?

Candidates will be assessed via worksheets, completion of candidate pack and initial assessments of their practical coaching during the training. Following a period of practice after the course, there is a final assessment of practical coaching ability and oral questions on performance, knowledge and understanding.


What is the duration of the qualification?

This qualification is delivered over a 60 hour period. Candidates are then given a period of practice before returning for final assessment.

To attend a Level 2 Assessment you must have completed the following:

  • All your Level 2 Pack Work - All Tasks complete - (verfied by Durham County FA)
  • Emergency 1st Aid (within 3 years)
  • FA Safeguarding Children Workshop (within 3 years)
  • Online Laws of the Game

Information:

Course Fees must be paid up front, if you are having your course paid for you must submit a signed letter from the organisation/club on letter headed paper confirming they will be paying your course fee and this must be sent with your application form.

****Durham FA Coach Education Cancellation Policy****

If you need to cancel your attendance on the course you should inform Durham FA immediately. All our courses are in demand and by not advising us you are preventing another candidate from attending.

If you cancel more than 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the course, a full refund will be issued. However, if you cancel after the 2 week deadline, no refund will be given. Consideration will be given to candidates who, for health reasons are unable to attend and require a transfer to another course. A letter from a doctor or medical professional must be supplied.

If you should decide to transfer to another course once your application has been submitted, there will be an additional administration charge of £20.00
