The FA Introductory Certificate in Coaching Adults

This new course provides an introduction to candidates who are responsible for coaching players 16 years and above.

What will I learn?
·   Identify appropriate coaching practices

·   Describe suitable and appropriate skills when dealing with players and teams.

·   Identify nutritional needs of players

·   Explain fitness requirements of players

·   Identify future training needs

·   List the components of suitable Codes of Conducts.

·   Describe Child Protection training opportunities

·   Identify elements of Club Administration

·   Emergency Aid workshop

·   Administration – best practice

·   Health and Safety

·   Players development

·   Fitness and Nutrition

·   Warm up / Cool down

·   Fitness Ideas

·   Ethics – role of coaches / managers / administration

·   Where next – future training opportunities.


How is the qualification assessed?
No assessment criteria, certification is awarded to those who complete the course requirement.

What is the duration of the qualification?
This qualification should be structured over a period of 12 hours, likely to be spread over a number evenings or weekends.
