FA Youth Award Module 1 – Developing the Environment

For whom the course is intended

The course is aimed at holders of the 1st4sport Level 1 in Coaching Football who wish to extend their knowledge and experience in coaching young children.

Course Format

This is a 32 hour NON Assessed course aimed at coaches at ALL levels who wish to extend their knowledge of coaching the 5 – 11yr old player.
There are generic strands relating to teaching and learning, motivation and self-esteem that are suitable for most coaches.

The course will provide practical sessions and advice for when coaching this age group and will increase the candidate’s knowledge of how to develop their coaching to incorporate the FA 4 corner model.

The course will cover Technical development and in the Physical corner it will offer FUNdamental ideas for the coach to use as well as suggested activities for the development of football specific movements.
The important Social and Psychological development of the young player is also examined.

Tasks include;
 How Players Learn.
 Managing Mistakes
 Self – Esteem
 Motivation
 Practical Activities / Games
 Managing Activities

Course Fees must be paid up front, if you are having your course paid for you must submit a signed letter from the organisation/club on letter headed paper confirming they will be paying your course fee and this must be sent with your application form.

****Durham FA Coach Education Cancellation Policy****

If you need to cancel your attendance on the course you should inform Durham FA immediately. All our courses are in demand and by not advising us you are preventing another candidate from attending.

If you cancel more than 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the course, a full refund will be issued. However, if you cancel after the 2 week deadline, no refund will be given. Consideration will be given to candidates who, for health reasons are unable to attend and require a transfer to another course. A letter from a doctor or medical professional must be supplied.

If you should decide to transfer to another course once your application has been submitted, there will be an additional administration charge of £20.00

Cost:
£75 for candidates from Charter Standard Clubs (50% Bursary)
£150 for candidates from Non Charter Standard Clubs
