Who should enrol?
Anybody over 17 years of age with regular practical experience of participation in football.
What are the entry requirements?
Candidates are required to:
Be qualified at Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football or Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Adults.
Attend a Durham County FA Level 2 Taster Session.
Have observed qualified and experienced coaches working with adults and children.
Prior to certification, candidates are required to present evidence of attendance at:
The F.A. Emergency Aid Certificate or equivalent
The F.A. Workshop - Child Protection and Best Practice.
(Work shops are provided by Durham County FA on a regular basis)
What will I learn?
On successfully achieving this recognised qualification candidates will be able to:
• develop an appreciation of the ethical coaching process
• plan, conduct and evaluate a series of football coaching sessions
• coach the basic skills and techniques of football
• promote and establish positive working relationships at all levels
• ensure the health and safety of players and others within the coaching environment
• develop greater responsibility for their own learning and development
• promote the sport in a positive and constructive manner
• demonstrate an understanding of the principles of attack and defence through the use of practices and small sided games.
How is the qualification assessed?
Candidates will be assessed via worksheets, completion of candidate pack and initial assessments of their practical coaching during the training. Following a period of practice after the course, there is a final assessment of practical coaching ability and oral questions on performance, knowledge and understanding.
What is the duration of the qualification?
This qualification is delivered over a 60 hour period. Candidates are then given a period of practice before returning for final assessment.
Continuation Days
Attendance is required at Continuation Days for:
Candidates who have recently attended the Level 2 coaching certificate and would like to check their progress and receive further support in helping them prepare for their assessment.

Information:
With immediate affect the price for this course will change to £200 for general public and £170 for coaches from Durham County FA Charter Standard Clubs/Schools. As with the Level 1 coaches from Durham County FA Charter Standard Clubs as well as accessing the bursary of £30 they will receive an Umbro equipment package worth £160 for each candidate who completes the course.
